John Lege
John Lege joined the City of Ocala, Florida and assumed the position of Chief Financial Officer in June 2010. He oversees the Office of Budget and Finance and is responsible for all budget, financial, and accounting related activities.
John began his career in the U.S. Navy, where he served for 21 years as a Navy Supply Corps Officer. After his retirement from the Navy in 2001, he joined the independent accounting firm of Davis, Monk & Company in Gainesville, Florida. John specialized in audits of local governments and not-for-profit organizations and was the senior auditor on many engagements throughout North Central Florida.
In December 2007, John accepted the position as Finance Director for Sumter County, Florida where he served until accepting his current position with the City of Ocala.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Florida and a master’s degree in business administration from Webster University.
