Stephen Spivey
Stephen Spivey served two years on the bench in the 5th Circuit Court, hearing Family Court and Dependency cases, before retiring in December, 2006. Prior to his time on the bench, Spivey’s legal career included ten years in private practice and four years as a staff attorney for Justice Department. He is a graduate of the University of Central Florida and received his Juris Doctorate degree from Stetson Law. He is the founder of Recovery House, Inc., Drug Court and Teen Court in Marion County. Judge Spivey currently is owner of Stephen D. Spivey Mediation Services, a comprehensive alternative dispute resolution firm. He and his wife, Rosemary, live in Ocala.
