HALO Foster Parent Training and Awards Event

Kids Central has over 266 foster homes providing safe and loving homes for vulnerable children. Each year we plan a unique evening of recognition for our foster families to honor and reward them for the challenging work they do while caring for children that have been abused and neglected. Over 300 foster parents will attend this year’s event which combines entertainment, education and the naming of our HALO Award Recipients.

SPEAKER
Dr. Myron Rolle
Rhodes Scholar, NFL Player, Neurosurgeon

Before becoming a doctor, Dr. Rolle made a name for himself as a Rhodes Scholar, FSU football player and, later, as an NFL player for the Tennessee Titans and the Pittsburgh Steelers. After earning a Bachelor of Exercise Science and completing all pre-med requirements at FSU, he postponed his NFL career to attend Oxford University, where he earned his Master of Medical Anthropology. He entered the NFL draft in 2010 and was drafted by the Titans. In 2013, he announced his intent to leave the NFL and attend medical school. He was accepted and enrolled in Florida State University College of Medicine graduating in May 2017. Recently, Dr. Rolle was accepted to a neurosurgery residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Dr. Rolle and his Myron L. Rolle Foundation are dedicated to the support, health, wellness, and educational initiatives benefiting children and families in need. Kids Central excited to bring this dynamic and inspiring speaker to HALO to educate and train local foster parents. Watch CNN’s coverage of Myron’s journey.

This gala will take place on Saturday, June 24th at the Circle Square Cultural Center located at 8395 SW 80th St, Ocala, FL 34481, and it promises to be a wonderful program for our foster parents who work so hard to Heal And Love Others!
