Godspeed On Your Return

On January 2nd, the Ocala Star Banner published the article, Soldier is half a world away, about the Davis family. Army Specialist Andrew “Andy” Davis is stationed near Kabul, Afghanistan. Mentioned in the article is the Davises’ service, not only over seas, but here at home as foster/adoptive parents. After reading the touching article, Kids Central CEO John Cooper wrote to the Davis family. Read the letter below.

Mr. & Mrs. Davis,

I just read the article in the Ocala Star Banner and wanted to commend your service to our country and community.  I would like to personally thank you for carrying out our Country’s mission and representing the Central Florida area in the manner reported.  I’m so glad your family is also part of the Kids Central team.  Your family plays an extremely important role with our agency as foster parents and your community advocacy for the children you protect and love exemplifies the excellence we strive for everyday to help those that depend on us.  Thank you!
Your military service this past year has afforded many Americans the opportunity to demonstrate our unequivocal freedom, so we could spend time with our families during the holidays.  As a former U.S. Army soldier I thank you for that sacrifice.  As the holidays pass, we all need to remember those who put on a uniform to defend our freedom that allows us to reunite with family and friends, even as some of you will not be able to spend time with your family.
I did read with some interest your loyalty to the Florida Gators and your difficulty with watching some of the football games.  I must confess to being a FSU alumni and staunch Seminole fan – I hope you and your fellow soldiers have the opportunity to watch the BCS Championship game and maybe even offer a little support to the Noles!

Godspeed on your return!

John Cooper, President & CEO Kids Central Inc.
